If Moonlight was already the cool, silver-toned cousin in the Scindapsus family, the Albo Variegated form is the one that gets all the double takes. Each elongated, satin-finish leaf is brushed in silvery green, then overlaid with unpredictable splashes and marbling of creamy white. Some leaves lean heavy on the silver, others wear their variegation like abstract art—no two alike, no repeats.

The “Moonlight” form is distinguished by a thicker cuticle layer and a dense coating of reflective epidermal cells, which scatter light and create that characteristic metallic sheen. The albo variegation occurs due to a lack of chlorophyll in certain leaf sectors, the result of a natural chimera. These white and cream sections depend on adjacent green tissue for sugars through photosynthate sharing. High light is critical—not to “burn in” variegation, but to ensure the green portions can produce enough energy to sustain the patterned leaf without stress.

Scindapsus treubii are slow-growing and deliberate, making every new leaf feel like a win. ‘Moonlight’ in Albo form keeps the same thick, leathery foliage collectors love, with variegation stable enough to hold its patterns over time. The species produces adventitious aerial roots at nodes, allowing it to climb with support in nature, where it often grows in the understory of Southeast Asian forests, attaching to tree trunks for better light capture. Train it up a moss pole for vertical drama or let it cascade to catch the light on those glossy, silver-white swirls.

Shipping & Acclimation

Your plant will have acclimated at FGMN Nursery for at least 6 weeks before shipping, ensuring it’s strong and stable when it arrives at your door. All plants ship via 2-day shipping, year-round, in secure, insulated packaging to protect against temperature swings. While 2-day is included, we strongly recommend upgrading to 1-day shipping for the fastest, least stressful transit possible—especially during extreme weather.

During the height of summer or depths of winter, it’s normal for a leaf or two to yellow in transit due to temperature stress. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the plant’s health. Minor blemishes or leaf loss can occur in shipping, but your Scindapsus treubii will continue producing fresh, healthy growth once settled.
