Special Blend Predatory Mite Mix Prevention Sachets

Targets: Thrips, Whiteflies, Spider Mites, Broad Mites, Russet Mites, and More
For Prevention, Not Knockdown

When pest pressure is unpredictable—or you want broad coverage without guessing—Special Blend gives you a smart, hands-off solution.

Each sachet contains a curated mix of four powerhouse predators:

  • Amblyseius swirskii – Targets thrips eggs and larvae, whiteflies, broad mites, russet mites

  • Amblyseius cucumeris – Targets thrips larvae, broad mites, cyclamen mites

  • Amblyseius andersoni – Targets spider mites, broad mites, cyclamen mites, and more

  • Phytoseiulus persimilis – A specialist for spider mites (Tetranychus species)

This multi-species sachet is designed for growers who need coverage across multiple pest types or aren’t sure which pests might show up first. Each species is included in various life stages (eggs, juveniles, adults) and exits the sachet over time to patrol foliage and feed.

Not for Active Infestations

Like all sachets, Special Blend is preventive, not curative. If you’re seeing visible pest damage, webbing, or rapid spread, use bottles first—then follow with sachets for ongoing coverage.

What It Targets

  • Thrips (eggs and larvae)

  • Whiteflies

  • Broad mites

  • Russet mites

  • Cyclamen mites

  • Spider mites (Tetranychus urticae, etc.)

  • Other small, soft-bodied mites

How to Use

  • Hang 1 sachet per plant, or every 2–3 feet in dense canopy

  • Do not open—mites exit through the release vent on their own

  • Replace every 2–4 weeks depending on pest risk and environmental conditions

Best Conditions

  • Temperature: 70–85°F ideal

  • Humidity: 60%+ preferred for optimal emergence

  • Lighting: Works under both natural and artificial setups

Pro Tips

  • Start before pest outbreaks. These sachets are built for prevention

  • Use with Good Bug Diet if pest levels are low and food is scarce

  • Pair with bottles if you’re switching from treatment to maintenance

  • Avoid spraying. Even organic contact sprays can wipe out the mites

  • Hang above the watering line—don’t let sachets get soaked

Safe for Everything but the Pests

  • Non-toxic

  • Pollinator- and pet-safe

  • No re-entry restrictions

  • IPM-compatible

Shipping & Storage

  • Ships 2-day

  • Use on arrival for best results

  • If needed, store up to 24–48 hours at 50°F (do not freeze or expose to low humidity)

Quick shipping but unsure about effectiveness

The shipping arrived quickly according to the stated delivery estimates and shipping details on the website. One satchel had exploded during shipping but that cannot be controlled by the shipper. My only concern is to the effectiveness of the mites themselves. The satchels have been hung for about a week now. In the time, I have only seen one active mite. Meanwhile the existing spider mites seem unaffected. This may be my fault for not ordering the rapid infestation although spider mite levels would still be considered low. I may need to purchase a faster solution shortly if the existing spider mite population continues to grow with little impact from the slow release.

Hi!

The sachets are really designed as a prevention-- they're filled with all life stages -- eggs, larvae, and adults. So you're partially waiting for the eggs and larvae to grow up, and that can take up to 30 days. The cans (treatment) have all adults, which are hungry and ready to rumble now. The sachets will work over time or with enough sachets, but it won't be quickly. Karen will email you a discount code if you'd like to get the cans to help speed it up.
