Amblyseius swirskii Prevention Sachets

Fuel for the Tiny Team That Does the Dirty Work

Your predators are putting in overtime—make sure they’re getting paid.

Good Bug Diet is a long-lasting nutrient card that keeps beneficial insects and mites active, effective, and in the mood to stick around. Packed with a balanced blend of fats, proteins, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, amino acids, vitamins, lactose, and sucrose, it feeds your good bugs so they can keep eating the bad ones.

Whether you're raising mites, wasps, or beetles, this card gives them what they need to keep hunting—and stay in your setup, not wander off looking for food.

Why It Works

  • Full-spectrum nutrition. Everything your beneficials need to stay energized, fertile, and focused.

  • Set it and forget it. One card lasts up to 10 weeks—no mixing, no measuring, no fridge raids.

  • Versatile. Supports a wide range of beneficial species across multiple environments.

Compatible With:

Predatory Mites

  • Amblyseius swirskii

  • Amblyseius andersoni

  • Amblyseius cucumeris

  • Stratiolaelaps scimitus (formerly Hypoaspis miles)

  • Neoseiulus californicus

  • Phytoseiulus persimilis

Beneficial Insects

  • Encarsia formosa (whitefly parasitoid wasp)

  • Aphidius colemani (aphid parasitoid wasp)

  • Dalotia coriaria (rove beetle)

  • Orius insidiosus (minute pirate bug)

  • Chrysoperla rufilabris (green lacewing adults)

Also compatible with generalist hunters like lady beetles when used during adult stages.

How to Use

  • Hang 1 card per plant or every 2–3 feet for dense foliage.

  • Place near release sites or suspected pest hot zones.

  • Replace every 10 weeks to keep the buffet open.

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Store below 68°F to maintain potency (a wine fridge or cool closet works great).

  • Shelf life: Up to 3 years unopened.

Pro Tip:

Use alongside predator sachets or bottles to improve establishment rates and reduce early abandonment—especially in low-pest or preventive setups where predators need a reason to stick around.

These mites have been a great success for our greenhouses

These mites have been a great success for our greenhouses. Almost no problems with pests since I've introduced these guys. I haven't had to use any pesticides of any kind at all.

All the webs came back shortly after. The ice packs were room temp when I rcvd them. Don't know if that matters. It's been cool and rainy since I hung them

Hi Gabrielle! It sounds like what you really needed were the treatment products—the bottles—rather than the sachets, and possibly in a larger quantity than you purchased. Sachets are great for prevention and catching the occasional spider mite that wanders in, but they’re not designed to handle an active infestation. That’s exactly why we offer bottles filled with adult mites, ready to go to work right away.

If you did purchase both (it’s hard to tell since your review is on the sachets), then the issue may have been more extensive than the products could cover. Feel free to reach out if you’d like help identifying the best product and quantity for your situation—we’re happy to guide you.

I do not see any damage to my plants and I have 2 more weeks before I remove the sachets. Fingers crossed my little friend have done there jobs!

This is amazing news! I'm confident that they'll keep all your prized plants safe. :) Your plants are so lucky to have you.

Didn't help

Did nothing for my small thrips investigation, which had now heavily invested a plant

Oh now! Sounds like you may have gotten the wrong product. The sachets really are for prevention, while the bottles are for treatment. Inside the sachets are eggs, larvae and adults and are designed to hatch and grow up over a 30 day period, offering a steady of predators which attack anything that comes along. Conversely, the bottles have 100% very hungry adults (treatment). Reach out, and maybe we can help you with the bottles. (Info@fgmnnursery.com)
