Phytoseiulus persimilis Prevention Sachets

We’re testing out a new idea: including shipping in the price. Why? Because, honestly, it feels a little unfair to show one cost for ladybugs and then surprise you with a two-day/next day shipping fee at checkout (and that can be quite high). Will we stick with it? Maybe, maybe not—but we wanted to give it a shot. So yes, our prices might seem higher compared to others, but now you know why.

Prevent Spider Mites Before They Get Comfortable
Phytoseiulus persimilis Sachets

If you’ve dealt with spider mites before, you already know: it’s easier to prevent them than to try to clean up the mess. That’s where Phytoseiulus persimilis sachets come in.

Each sachet provides a slow, steady release of these fast-moving, spider-mite-only assassins over 2–4 weeks. Built for early-stage control of Tetranychus urticae (Two-Spotted Spider Mites), Carmine Red Mites, Pacific Mites, and other web-spinning terrors, P. persimilis is your go-to for targeted prevention in warm, humid setups.

When to Use P. persimilis Over Other Mites

Use P. persimilis when:

  • You’re specifically targeting spider mites—and nothing else.

  • You need rapid reproduction and fast kill rates once spider mites show up.

  • Your environment stays above 68°F with 60–90% humidity (think greenhouses, indoor grow tents, lush tropical rooms).

  • You’re rotating between bottles and sachets for season-long spider mite management.

Choose a different predator when:

  • You also have thrips, broad mites, russet mites, or root-zone pests—go with A. swirskii, A. andersoni, or S. scimitus.

  • You’re running cool and dry—P. persimilis won’t thrive under 60°F or in low-humidity air.

Why Sachets?

  • Set it and forget it. Hang once—let them deploy themselves.

  • All life stages inside. A rolling release of eggs, nymphs, and adults for 2–4 weeks of built-in reinforcements.

  • Precision. P. persimilis only feeds on spider mites—no distractions.

  • No mess. No sprinkling, no measuring, no substrate cleanup.

Best For:

  • Preventing spider mite outbreaks before they start

  • Environments with moderate to low pest pressure

  • Indoor setups, greenhouses, gardens, or tropical tents with stable humidity and warmth

How to Use:

  • Hang 1 sachet every 3–6 feet for general prevention

  • For high-risk areas or spider mite-prone crops: 1 sachet per plant

  • Refresh every 2–4 weeks during active growing seasons

  • Avoid wetting the sachets when watering—keep predators dry and mobile

Important Note:

These sachets are for prevention or early-stage suppression.
Already seeing webbing or high mite counts?
Start with P. persimilis bottles to knock populations down fast—then switch to sachets to maintain control.

Safe for Everything but Spider Mites

No risk to humans, pets, pollinators, or your prized plants.
These mites are picky—spider mites or nothing.

Shipping & Storage

  • Hang immediately on arrival

  • If delayed, store at 45–55°F and deploy within 24 hours

NO INSTRUCTIONS for predatory mites

Not sure if the product was alive or dead. The description calls it a sachet so at first I thought it was in a porous bag that the mites could be shaken out from. I then realized it was a solid bag, so I cut it open and shook the contents onto several plants, inside and outside. The insects I could see were not moving and some are still laying on the window sill, making me think they must be dead (24 hours later). Hopefully some survived the mail trip.
Since spider mites are difficult to see I am not sure I'll know if it worked unless the plant has a sudden growth spurt or something. Await results.

Hi Sandra,
Thanks so much for your review — and for giving beneficial insects a try! We completely understand the information on the product page could be confusing, and we’re happy to clarify a few things.

Our sachets are preventative, not a treatment for active infestations. They contain a mix of eggs, larvae, and a few adult predatory mites, plus a food source, and are designed to release mites slowly over 2–4 weeks. The bag is intentionally solid (not porous) and should not be cut open — doing so exposes the developing mites to light and air, which can kill them before they hatch or disperse.

Because both the pests and predators are tiny and discreet, it’s normal not to see activity right away. In fact, most customers only notice the sachets are working once pest outbreaks are noticeably absent over time. For existing infestations, we recommend our bottled mites instead — those arrive as live adults and are ready to hunt on arrival.

Thanks again for your feedback — we’ll continue working on making our instructions as clear and helpful as possible!

Scam

I added these so called preditor mites and within 2 days i had webs everywhere! I just got my order from Arbico and spread them last night and today no new webs. I believe I was scammed and sent spider mites but can't prove it other than what happened.

First time ordering

The ordering process start to finish was easy. I placed the packets, and waiting to see how the trees do. If it will save my trees I will order more.
