Monstera ‘Burle Marx Flame’ is a rare, highly sought-after species with deeply lobed, flame-like foliage that reads more like sculpture than leaf. This exact plant, rooted and stable in a 2.5" pot, is showing true juvenile form with structural promise already visible.
A presumed natural hybrid or variation of Monstera subpinnata, this form was discovered in Brazil and named in homage to landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. It’s valued for its elongated, narrow lobes and deep, asymmetrical cuts that create the illusion of fire or fanned feathers as the plant matures.
Leaves emerge slender and full, then develop split margins and multi-lobed symmetry as the plant climbs. Under proper light and humidity, the mature form is visually unlike any other Monstera in cultivation.
