Deep cuts. Strong genes. Big energy.

This cross between Philodendron ‘Florida Beauty’ and Philodendron mayoi didn’t come to blend in. You get the jagged lobes and aggressive stance of mayoi, fused with the creamy, unpredictable variegation of Florida Beauty. It’s a hybrid that doesn’t just split the difference — it amplifies the drama from both parents.

Philodendron Florida Beauty × Mayoi is a climber, producing large, multi-lobed leaves with bold sectoral and marbled variegation in cream, lime, and pale yellow. Unlike pure Florida Beauty, which tends to stay more refined, this cross throws leaf shapes that lean wild and asymmetrical—especially as it matures. And it grows fast. Give it a pole and it’ll take the invitation seriously.

The coloration is chimeric, meaning variegation can shift leaf to leaf. The genetics are unstable in the best way: some leaves are soft marbled blends, others are full-blown splash events. Variegation can improve with higher light and proper humidity, though no two plants will express exactly the same way.

This rare hybrid ships fully rooted in aroid potting mix, not as cuttings or props. Offered in two formats:

  • Exact Plant – The specific plant shown. Rooted, stable, and already showing its adult shape and variegation.

  • Grower’s Choice – A healthy, rooted sibling from the same cross, with visible variegation and active growth. Each plant is genetically identical, but expression will vary — that’s the nature of chimeric plants. If it doesn’t meet our quality bar, it doesn’t ship.

This is a rare tropical foliage plant well-suited for indoor aroid collections and climbing setups.

Shipping Note:
Ships rooted in soil and carefully packed, but due to the broad leaves and delicate variegation, cosmetic damage in transit is common. Expect possible edge bruising, yellowing, or minor tearing. These do not affect plant health and are not considered damage. Soil may shift during transit. As long as the roots are intact and your conditions are stable, new growth will follow.
