Precision Nutrition for Aroids, Tissue Culture Acclimation, and Semi-Hydroponics

General Hydroponics FloraMicro is the foundation of precision nutrition for aroids, rare plants, and tissue culture acclimation, delivering essential micronutrients, nitrogen, and calcium for strong, stable growth. Whether transitioning Philodendrons, Anthuriums, Alocasias, Hoyas, or other rare plants into semi-hydroponic systems (LECA, pon, or Hydroton) or acclimating lab-grown tissue culture plants, FloraMicro provides consistent, bioavailable nutrients to support healthy roots, prevent deficiencies, and promote vigorous foliage development.

As part of the Flora Series 3-part system, FloraMicro is used in combination with FloraGro and FloraBloom, allowing for precise control over nutrient ratios as plants mature from acclimation to full growth.

Why Aroid & Tissue Culture Growers Trust FloraMicro

  • Gentle & Customizable Feeding – Can be diluted for tissue culture acclimation or adjusted for mature plants in semi-hydroponic and hydroponic setups.
  • Essential Micronutrient Support – Provides iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper, and molybdenum, preventing chlorosis, slow rooting, and weak growth in sensitive aroids.
  • Calcium & Nitrogen for Strong Leaf & Root Development – Supports stable growth in Alocasias, Philodendrons, and other high-calcium-demanding species.
  • Stable & pH-Balanced Formula – Works seamlessly in LECA, pon, Hydroton, perlite wicking setups, and hydroponic reservoirs without drastic pH swings.
  • Prevents Nutrient Deficiencies in Semi-Hydro & Tissue Culture Acclimation – Compensates for low-nutrient, inert growing mediums like LECA, pon, and Hydroton.

How to Use FloraMicro for Aroids & Tissue Culture Acclimation

For Tissue Culture Acclimation:

  1. Dilute to ¼-strength Flora Series feeding schedule to prevent nutrient shock.
  2. Soak LECA, pon, or Hydroton in the diluted FloraMicro solution for 24 hours before planting.
  3. Gently transplant tissue culture plants into moistened LECA or moss, ensuring high humidity (80–90%) for the first 10–14 days.
  4. Mist roots lightly every few days to maintain hydration while roots establish.
  5. Gradually increase nutrient strength over 3–4 weeks as plants acclimate to ambient humidity.

For Semi-Hydroponic Aroids & Rare Plants:

  1. Pre-rinse and soak LECA or Hydroton in a FloraMicro solution to prime the medium with essential nutrients.
  2. Use a self-watering or passive hydro setup, ensuring roots have access to a shallow nutrient reservoir.
  3. Mix FloraMicro with FloraGro and FloraBloom according to the plant’s stage of growth (see feeding chart below).
  4. Monitor EC and pH levels regularly (target pH: 5.5–6.2 for semi-hydro; 6.0–6.5 for soil).
  5. Flush the system every 2–4 weeks to prevent salt buildup and maintain nutrient balance.
