Fenestration in progress. Contrast from day one.

Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Albo’ is a highly variegated form of the classic pinnatum species, known for its elongated, sword-like leaves and dramatic cream-to-white chimeric marbling. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes deeply lobed and fenestrated—especially when given strong light, vertical support, and consistent care.

The variegation is the result of periclinal chimerism, where different layers of the shoot apical meristem express varying levels of chlorophyll. This produces unpredictable leaf patterns: some leaves may come in with bold white sectors, while others show more minty marbling or brushstroke-like speckling. It’s a genetically unstable trait, and that's part of the appeal.

Unlike pothos cultivars or other Epipremnum species, pinnatum is a true climber. Internodes elongate with age, and aerial roots grab onto poles or textured surfaces with ease. As it matures, the leaf shape transitions from lanceolate to lobed and fenestrated—especially in higher humidity and bright filtered light.

Format Options

  • Exact Plant – 4" Pot
The specific plant pictured. Rooted, established, and already showing variegation and structural growth.

  • Grower’s Choice – 4" Pot

All plants ship rooted in aroid mix, fully acclimated and stable.

Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Albo’ Care Overview

Requirement Details
Light Bright, indirect light. Encourages stronger variegation and fenestration.
Humidity 60–80%. Higher humidity promotes larger, lobed leaves over time.
Watering Water when top 1–2" of soil is dry. Avoid waterlogging.
Substrate Well-draining aroid mix with bark, perlite, peat, and pumice.
Temperature 65–85°F. Avoid cold drafts or temps below 60°F.
Feeding Monthly during active growth with a balanced fertilizer.
Growth Habit Climber. Will trail when young, then elongate and climb with age.
Pests to Watch Spider mites and thrips. Clean leaves regularly to support healthy variegated tissue.

Shipping Note:
All Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Albo’ plants ship rooted in soil and are packed to preserve foliage and root health. Due to the pale variegation and thin juvenile leaves, minor cosmetic wear during transit is normal—including edge crisping or soft yellowing. These are purely visual and do not impact the health or future growth of the plant. Each one ships stable, clean, and ready to grow.
