The Honest Answer

Why we run this

We're a small nursery selling live predators to people who mostly didn't know that was an option. That's a hard thing to advertise. Nobody searches for a beneficial mite until something has already gone wrong.

So instead of pouring the money into ads that follow you around the internet, we hand $200 of it to one of you every month. It's more fun, and it works about as well.

The gift card is store credit, which we'll admit is convenient for us. But $200 goes a genuinely long way here, and we'd rather it went to somebody with plants to protect.

Before you ask

Do I have to buy something to enter?

No. Orders are entered automatically as a convenience, but the form on this page is a complete, equal alternative. Same drawing, same odds, no purchase at any point.

Can I enter more than once?

One entry per person, per month. If you enter twice in the same month, or you enter the form and also place an order, we combine them rather than counting them twice. Entering again next month is fine and expected.

Does entering subscribe me to emails?

Only if you tick the box. Entry and the newsletter are handled as two separate things on purpose. If the box is unchecked, we hold your email for the drawing and send you nothing.

What exactly is the prize?

A $200 FGMN Nursery gift card — that's the whole prize, and there is no cash version of it. It's store credit, so it can be spent on anything we sell but can't be converted to cash. It doesn't expire, and it can be split across as many orders as you like.

How will I know if I won?

We email the address you entered with, on or shortly after the 5th. If we don't hear back within 14 days we draw a new name, so it's worth a glance at your spam folder around then. We don't announce winners publicly without asking first.

Who can enter?

Anyone 18 or older in the United States. We only ship domestically, so a gift card wouldn't do much good anywhere we can't send a box of live insects.

$200 Monthly Gift Card Giveaway — Official Rules

No purchase necessary. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. One entry per person per calendar month; duplicate entries within the same month are combined. Entry period for each drawing runs from the first through the last day of the calendar month. One winner is selected at random on the 5th day of the following month and notified at the email address provided; if no reply is received within 14 days, the prize is forfeited and an alternate winner is drawn. Prize is one $200 FGMN Nursery gift card, redeemable as store credit only, with no cash value, not redeemable for cash and not transferable. Limit one prize per person per drawing. Entering does not subscribe you to marketing email; newsletter consent is collected separately and is optional. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
