Our Nursery
FGMN Nursery is a U.S.-based commercial plant nursery specializing in rare and collectible aroids. We grow and release limited inventory directly to collectors, with an emphasis on strong genetics, stable presentation, and plants that are acclimated for real homes.
What “nursery-grown” means here
When a listing is marked nursery-grown at FGMN, it means the plant came from our own growing stock and was grown under our care through the stages that matter most: establishment, active growth, and readiness for shipping.
That shows up as:
-
Consistent growth habit and predictable leaf development
-
Clean, well-established root systems
-
Plants that are already acclimated to typical home humidity and conditions
Propagation and production
We use a mix of propagation methods depending on the plant and the outcome we want. That may include division, corms, cuttings, and tissue culture work when it makes sense for the genetics and the long-term stability of the plant.
We care about two things more than hype:
-
Plant health and vigor
-
Traits that hold up over time (structure, color, pattern, growth habit)
Collectible does not mean fragile
Rare plants are not automatically delicate, but they do have different needs. Our goal is to send plants that are not only beautiful on day one, but also set up to keep growing once they arrive.
On many listings, we’ll call out:
-
What you can expect at the size you’re buying
-
How color and pattern can shift as the plant matures
-
What conditions help maintain the traits you’re buying it for
Exact plant vs grower’s choice
You’ll see two types of listings:
Exact Plant
You receive the exact plant shown in the photos. This option is best when leaf pattern, color placement, or shape is the main reason you’re buying.
Grower’s Choice
You receive a healthy, comparable plant from the same batch and size. This option is best when you care most about the cultivar and overall quality, not an identical leaf pattern.
We are intentional about how we label these so expectations stay clean and the unboxing experience matches what you thought you bought.
Quality standards
Before a plant ships, we focus on the basics that protect your success:
-
Strong roots and stable media
-
Actively growing tissue when seasonally appropriate
-
Clean presentation and careful packing for transit
If we don’t think a plant is ready to travel, we will hold it until it is. Protecting the plant comes before shipping speed.
Shipping
We pack plants to arrive intact, hydrated appropriately, and protected from movement in transit. Seasonal conditions influence packing materials and timing, and we adjust based on weather patterns rather than the calendar.
Shipping details, heat/cold precautions, and timing guidance are always listed in our shipping policy.
