Ultimate Control Predatory Mite Mix

At A Glance

The Ultimate Control Blend is our premier broad-spectrum defense system. While single-species predators often fail when the temperature shifts or a new pest arrives, this professional-grade cocktail of Neoseiulus californicus, Amblyseius cucumeris, and Amblyseius swirskii provides a multi-layered, adaptive defense that evolves with your garden’s needs.

  • Species Included: N. californicus, A. cucumeris, A. swirskii.

  • Best For: Simultaneous control of Thrips, Spider Mites, Broad Mites, Russet Mites, and Whiteflies.

  • Key Advantage: Environmental Resilience. This blend covers the widest possible range of temperature and humidity, ensuring your guardians never stop hunting.

The Power of Three: Why Ultimate Control Wins

By combining these three species, you eliminate the "gaps" found in more specialized blends:

  1. The Spider Mite Specialist (Californicus): A hardy predator that thrives in high heat and low humidity. It can survive for weeks without food, making it the perfect "long-term sentry" for Spider Mites.

  2. The Thrips Larvae Expert (Cucumeris): A relentless worker that targets Thrips larvae before they can mature into flying adults. It is the foundational layer of thrips prevention.

  3. The High-Metabolism Hunter (Swirskii): A powerhouse predator that eats 5–10 pests a day. It excels at controlling Whitefly eggs and various mite species in warm, humid conditions.

Target Pests

The Ultimate Control Blend is designed to clear the canopy of the most destructive soft-bodied pests. Because it contains three distinct species, it attacks pests at multiple life stages.

  • Thrips: Targets thrips larvae on the leaf surface before they can pupate or fly.
  • Spider Mites: Controls Two-Spotted Spider Mites, even in hotter, drier conditions.
  • Broad & Russet Mites: The Swirskii and Californicus in this blend are among the only predators small enough and aggressive enough to hunt these microscopic "Borg" pests.
  • Whiteflies: Effectively consumes the eggs and crawler stages of greenhouse whiteflies.
  • Secondary Targets: Will also feed on Tarsonemid mites, Fungus Gnat larvae (at the soil surface), and various species of pest mite eggs.
Environmental Needs

The strength of the Ultimate Control Blend lies in its diversity. Because it contains three different species, the "shield" stays active even if your grow room conditions shift.

  • Temperature Range: 60F to 95F.Swirskii thrives in the heat (75F+).Californicus remains active in extreme warmth.Cucumeris handles the cooler "lights out" periods.
  • Humidity: Performs best at 50% to 70% RH. However, Californicus is uniquely tolerant of lower humidity (40%), preventing a total population crash if your air gets too dry.
  • Light Requirements: Not sensitive to day length; these mites will remain active in both long-day (vegetative) and short-day (flowering) cycles.
Selection Guide

Choosing the right defense depends on your goals. Here is why the Ultimate Control Blend is our most recommended "Hero" product:

  • Ultimate Control vs. Special Blend: Specialized predators often die off the moment their primary food source is gone. Choose Ultimate Control because these mites can survive on pollen and debris, staying "on guard" even when pest levels are low.
  • The "Borg" Protection: Most general blends ignore Broad and Russet mites. Choose Ultimate Control for its high concentration of Swirskii and Californicus—the most reliable biological defense for microscopic pests.
  • Climate Intelligence: If your grow room temp or humidity fluctuates, Choose Ultimate Control. With three species on board, at least one is always at peak performance, whereas single-species mixes may fail.
  • The "I Don't Know" Choice: If you see damage but aren't 100% sure of the pest, Choose Ultimate Control. It is the safest and most effective "all-in-one" insurance policy for your canopy.
How to Use

The Activation Tumble
Before opening, gently tumble the bottle end-over-end for 30 seconds. This ensures the three species—which vary in size—are perfectly mixed within the carrier.

2. Application

  • The Crown Release: Shake onto the newest growth at the top. Mites naturally migrate downward to find prey.
  • Joint Focus: Apply extra where leaves meet the stems (the "crotches"). These are the highways where pests breed.
  • Release Boxes: Use these in high-airflow rooms to keep the carrier from blowing off the leaves.

3. Dosing Rates

  • Total Prevention: 1,000 mites per 100 sq. ft. every 4 weeks.
  • Active Infestation: 3,000–5,000 mites per 100 sq. ft. Repeat every 14 days until growth is clean.

How They're Shipped

Release IMMEDIATELY: While hardy, these are living creatures and should go on your plants the day they arrive.

Storage: If you must wait, keep the bottle horizontal in a cool, dark place (55°F–60°F). Do not refrigerate.

The "Invisible Army" Note: These mites are nearly microscopic (0.5mm). They are masters of hiding and will scatter under leaves immediately. You will likely not see them with the naked eye. * The White Paper Test: To verify life, shake a small amount of carrier onto white paper. Under a bright light, you will see tiny, dust-like specks moving—this is your "Triple-Threat" army in action.

FAQ

What is your Live Delivery Guarantee?

We guarantee that your beneficial insects will arrive healthy and ready to work. Because we are shipping live organisms, we use packaging and expedited shipping to ensure their safety. In the rare event that your order is compromised during transit, please take a photo of the package and contact us within 24 hours of delivery so we can make it right.

Why is Ultimate Control better than buying species individually?

It treats Thrips, Spider Mites, and Broad Mites simultaneously, making it more effective and affordable than buying three separate bottles.

Can I use this with Neem Oil?

No. Neem Oil will kill your mites on contact. It will not hurt them once it dries, but the actual application will hurt them.

Is it safe for humans?

Yes. They cannot bite or live on humans or pets.

How long do they stay?

If food or pollen is present, they will stay and reproduce for the entire cycle.

Do I need to re-apply?

For prevention, once a month is standard.

Can I use this in Tissue Culture (TC)?

Yes, it is the perfect "first resident" for plantlets transitioning to soil.

Help! I'm overwhelmed

Yeah, it's a lot the first time you're using predatory mites. Please email us at info@fgmnnursery.com and we'll be happy to help!

I don’t see anything moving in my bottle or sachet. Does that mean they’re dead?

Not at all! In fact, go ahead and deploy them.

Predatory mites are microscopic (often less than 0.5mm) and naturally blend into their carrier medium (bran or vermiculite).

  • For Bottles: The mites often huddle in the center of the bottle for insulation during transit.
  • For Sachets: These are "slow-release" nurseries. The mites stay tucked deep inside the breeding media and emerge one by one over 2–4 weeks. Seeing an "empty-looking" sachet or bottle is not proof of a loss; it is simply how they are packaged for maximum survival.
